Single Stage Single Pass

Single-stage/single-pass dryer model

This model is the most simplistic of dryer designs and incorporates one fan, one burner, and one conveyor. Normal air direction is up, but can be down if required. Product is loaded through various spreading mechanisms at the beginning of the conveyor and discharges at the opposite end. There is only one control for product depth. Airflow velocity, resident time, and air temperature can be set to a wide range of adjustments. Normal operating temperatures are from 10°f heat rise to 240°f. Special applications can be constructed for up to 400°f. Air velocity through the bed can be set from 25 fpm to 200 fpm. Normal operating range is 100 to 150 fpm.

These models are sold as all heat or heat and cool. Heat from the cool section can be recycled to gain efficiency with certain products. Standard widths are 2', 6', and 8' and standard lengths are in increments of 12'. Custom widths and lengths are available.

These models are usually selected for drying of various feed products, extruded oilseeds, waste products, and for heating and roasting. Single-stage/multiple-pass as well as Multiple-stage/multiple-pass units are also selected for these products when a higher degree of controllability and quality is necessary. The single-stage/single-pass models can be set in series to custom design a multiple-stage/multiple-pass design. Air direction can be alternated and recycled for improved drying.
